I chose Prompt #2 Five random facts about you and your family. (inspired by Nice Girl Notes) for my Mama Kat's posting today.  Also this is the first picture I have scanned on my new scanner....

Hooray Me!

•   Mr. BC played football when he was in High School.  He had surgery on his knee and now his knees are shot, he will start knee replacement this spring.  Information is out now about the terrible life time brain injuries American pro footballers sustain. He grew somewhere along the way and Grandsons will be encouraged toward other sports, thank you very much.

Random Thoughts

Just some random thoughts today.

 

Staying with DD1 is always an adventure in eating.  She is very into Organic and I think Organic is another word for Expensive.  "I lived 65 years without organic on the package." is what I think. but to be sure packaging and additives have made our food less pure.  I know that she is trying to do what is best for her kids as she sees it. One thing she did turn me onto was almond milk. I usually use non-fat lactaid milk due to lactose intolerance, but I like the taste of the almond milk and it does have less sugar in it than cows milk.

 

Stormy Weather-Saturday Nine

1) Do noisy storms scare you?
I love Thunder Storms when I am cozy in my house.  They are a little scarier if I am driving or outdoors when it happens. Now the dogs are another story....Totem will be under the couch and Gwennie will be under the bed...and not even food will get them out.

    tomorrow my plans include Seeing Les Miserables and Sunday, I want to

    take the dogs for a walk if the weather is nice!

I am so turning into a curmugeon, thanks to Mr Bankerchick, he talks back to the television and I am starting to talk back to it as well, lately it has been about the trivial things that the NEWS people think is news.  I am so over #1 and #4.

What I Did On My Christmas Vacation

It is wonderful being home.....we had a great Christmas with the grandsons.... they had grown so much and are so smart and so loving.  I wish I were a younger grandma as I get tired just trying to keep up with them.  Especially the youngest.  Caшa is always on the move, Mr BC refers to him as Bam Bam as he pounds on everything and laughs when you pound along with him.  Лука is fine- tuning his skills.  He love riding his coaster bike at the park, especially if he can ride through a puddle.

The Back Half-Sunday Stealing

Well we are back from California and had a wonderful time with our Grandsons and DD1. On the last few days the boys came down with a cold and of course by the time we got on the road we were starting to sniffle too.  When we reached Texas we were flattened by the bug and it took us four days to get to Dallas.  We stayed two of those days in a KOA  not moving forward.  We got home Friday night and have been slowly coming back to life.  We had a flu shot but we were downed by a mighty bug. When we called DD1 on Friday the small sniffles had magnified to lay the whole family low! I felt barely up too doing the SS below, but I got to get back to Normal

Brand New....Year-Saturday 9

Spending my brand new year in Santa Barbara and the weather has been beautiful.  We alway name our vehicles so the RV has been named Chateau Cosette, a nod to Les Mis.  Cosette performed beautifully on her first trip out with us.  It was below freezing many nights across Oklahoma and Texas, it warmed up in New Mexico. Thought I would do a Saturday 9, while the grandsons are busy playing nicely together in the play room.

1) It's a brand new year! Do you have any resolutions for 2013? 
I resolved to not make resolutions many years ago, so far it it the only one that worked.

2) Dusty Springfield sang of feeling "brand new." What leaves you feeling refreshed and/or rejuvenated?
A nap.
