Friday Fragments-Mall Walking

I started Mall walking this week, so far, I have gone 3 times this week.  I had decided this was something I would start in 2015, and it has taken until February to remember.  I am hoping that if I start going regularly, Mr BC will come with me. Maggie and Jiggs have been doing it for years and it has been nice to have a cup of coffee with them, during the week.  The tour we will be making in September of London, Paris and Rome, will have lots of walking involved and I want to be able to keep up.

We will get her back to her trim self.

We have Gwennie and Caspar on a diet.  They are both overweight and under exercised. Caspar is hungry all the time and developed a bit of a tummy and he is already slimming. I started walking the mall because, the walks I take with the dogs are much slower and and shorter.  I have made a promise to work the dogs out along with feeding them better.  I wish I could take them on the mall.  Since that is not possible I have taken them, sometimes with Mr BC around several blocks here in town.  It is time for us to all get fit.

We have been experiencing typical Missouri weather....If you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes.  I has been warm and sunny some days and cold and freezing the next.  We even had some snow this week. I am ready for Spring.

Friday Fragments and Funnies

The day before we left on vacation, my washer broke and I had to finish it at my daughter's, who happily lives on the next street over.  When we got back, I looked on the Whirlpool web site and called one of the local repair service.  He ended up coming 3 times over 2 weeks. to finally get it fixed. After the 2nd time I Googled the error codes, and found this was a problem that was able to be resolved, so I mentioned the source to him.  He was sure it was something else but when he got here the 3rd time......I turned out to be right.  He still charged me 45 more, dollars for labor.  I am not sure I will be calling them for anything else.

When we were driving back from California a few weeks, we had a close call with an eighteen wheeler.  In Arizona, Mr BC was getting back on I 40 after a rest stop and gas fill up.  He was accelerating back on to the highway, taking a look to see who might be coming up as he merged, when he looked back the rig in the right lane was barely moving and was quite disabled.  He had to slam on breaks and steer towards a guard rail.  We ultimately stopped with out wrecking, but it was close.  I was still shaking miles later. 

My Grandsons enjoying their new bikes on Christmas day.  The weather was beautiful the whole time we were in CA.  See my beach pictures from last week.  It has been very cold here but no snow or ice and temps in the 50's this weekend.

I just got a new carpet shampooer, so I don't have to rent one
and I still wish someone would come and clean for me.

We took the dogs walking at the park and was sorry to find out they had moved all the benches along the path over to the new playground they have built.  I have to hope with all the work they are doing to make the park more usable and beautiful, they are going to replace the benches they have moved.  I am too old to get up and down off the grass.  The park is not actually in my town so I have to hope benches are in the city plans.

My dogs are off of their regular food and meal time involves a lot of coaxing and cheese sprinkling.  I would consider that it was summer heat but it has been cooler.  And after all the injury I go through to feed them their premium food.  I cut my fingers every few days on the aluminium foil lids, it got my thumb, this morning.  Dang....I wish my fingers and hands worked better.
