1) Bing Crosby wants a dime for food. Adjusted for inflation, 10¢ in 1932 is now worth $1.69. Can you think of anything you could buy at the grocery story with $1.69? I bought this today,  It was the only thing on my receipt for $1.69

 2) This song was originally released as a 78 rpm record. Have you ever seen a 78? Oh yes, 78's were my first children's records.  I graduated to 45's in my teens, and 33 1/3's for my record albums. Kids today would want to know....What's a record?

3) In 1932, Jean Harlow was Hollywood's glamor queen. Who do you think sets the standard for glamour today? I think Glamour's 50 glamorous women don't hold a candle to the old stars.  I guess, Angelina Jolie would be there and maybe Julia Roberts.  I think George Clooney's new bride, Amal is fantastic.

4) One of 1932's best selling books was Agatha Christie's Peril at End House. She remains popular today. Are you familiar with her work? I am from Masterpiece Theater and movies. I think they were good mysteries but somewhat old-fashion todays. 

5) This week's featured artist, Bing Crosby, worked as a caddy when he was 12 and continued to enjoy time on the golf course his entire life. What type of exercise do you do most often? I walk the dogs.

6) Bing had twin sons, Dennis and Philip. Many people believe that the propensity for twins is hereditary. Are there twins in your family? No. Not on either side.

7) Bing's daughter, Mary Crosby, has her own place in TV history. Do you know why? She shot J.R of Dallas fame.

8) In the mid 1970s, Crosby and his family did commercials for Minute Maid. Do you have any orange juice in your refrigerator? No, but I have some Cran-Grape, I mix it with my Sierra Mist.

9) Now for something completely random: Do you like beef jerky?

The Oscar Goes to.... Boobies!/MKWW

It is easy to say that Seth MacFarlane was Not the Best Host, ever, but equally hard to say he was the Worst Host ever. I am not the audience they were going after with his selection, however to say I did not laugh would be incorrect.  I even laughed at the 7th grade boy humor of the Boobies Song and loved the sock puppets.  MacFarlane is certainly likable, but a lot of his humor is more palatable when coming out of the mouth of Stewie or Ted rather than IN YOUR FACE at the Oscars. Not as bad as Gervaise (who I also think is funny) He certainly pulled off the musical numbers, which I really enjoyed. I wish we could resurrect Bob Hope, he was sly, funny, topical and I don't think anyone came away from the event mad or insulted by him.

 1) Do you believe there's only one person (and there ain't no other) for you? Or do you think we can truly love several partners over the course of our lives?t

I am sure there are other partners that one person could love. I would be hard pressed to find someone who I care about as much as MR BC, to want to include in my life. Well maybe George Clooney.

2) Do you have this, or any other, Christina song on your iPod/mp3 player?

No.

3) Christina Aguilera won a Grammy for her performance of this song. What do you deserve an award for? And who would you thank in your acceptance speech?

Patience, I would have to thank my family and former co-workers and customers, for giving me so many opportunities to try it.

4) Christina Aguilera has her own brand of perfume. Do you have a fragrance or scent you regularly wear

Angel, Mr BC found it and we both love it.

5) Do you have any allergies?

 I have Fall allergies and very allergic to Bee stings.

6) There's an older lady who proclaims during a TV commercial, "I will give up beer, bread, wine or soda but I won't give up Life Alert!" No, we're not going to debate her diet. Instead the question is: What are some of the staples that are always on your grocery list?

Apples, Peanut Butter, Milk, Diet Sierra Mist, Juice.  I don't even write them down on the list.

7) What's your favorite sitcom of all time?
30 Rock is my all time favorite, I laugh every time.

8) When it comes to your socks, do you prefer solids, stripes or prints?

The wilder the better, definitely prints. But most of the time I put on the white ones.

 

9) At what age do you consider a person "middle aged?" And when do they transition to "old?

I guess 45 and 85.  Old is just a state of mind.
