Happiness Is-Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Let's all think happy thoughts...share one of yours here. I am the constant  optimist in this house. I try to keep a smile on my face all of the time. Which is a challenge when you have a resting bitchy face.  I use to get tired of folks telling me to smile when I wasn't really unhappy. So I try to smile every time I look up.

2. There's a Chinese proverb that says, "If you want happiness for an hour take a nap, if you want happiness for a day-go fishing...." What say you? If you want happiness for a day, have a full body massage and a pedicure..

3. Where do you go to decompress from the world around you? Walking the dogs is stress-less. I have to do it every day as the dogs can tell time, but once we get started it is very relaxing, especially when we get out of town.

4. What song never fails to make you happy? Don't Worry, be Happy.

5. Wednesday is National Fast Food Day. Should that be a thing? Apparently it is, so tell us what's the last 'fast food' you consumed? If you were putting together your own version of a 'happy meal' what would you include? I had a Culver's butter burger and sweet potato fries, for late lunch, early dinner, yesterday, I can't even imagine the calorie count of a butter burger! My happy meal would be lasagne and salad.

6. In a few sentences tell us why you blog. I wanted to have a project where I could talk about my family, retirement and write.  I started out writing short stories and posting writing memes.  I go hot and cold about quitting but I do enjoy reading and commenting on my bloggy friends, posts.

7. List seven things you're feeling especially grateful for today. I am grateful for:
Mr Bankerchick for 49 years.
Two fantastic grandsons.
That I am friends with my kids.
I have my health and my mind, so I can take care of Mr BC.
My dogs, who love me unconditionally.
Good friends.
Roku....streaming video, because regular TV is boring and the news is depressing.

8. Insert your own random thought here. Two thoughts today, a random and a happy one, my brain is heavy with the thinking.
Let's think about: Happy corgi and happy grandsons, trick or treating.

  1. The Halloween babies are adorable. :) The Corgi looks like its having a fun time, too.

What is a butter burger? We love Culver's, but haven't been in a few years. Our favorite thing there is the fried chicken. It is absolutely yummy.

I often look cranky when I'm not feeling cranky, too.

    Have a blessed day!

  2. A butter burger sounds like a Paula Dean recipe. We love Culver's. It is forever away from here. We used to work right beside a Culver's in Humble, Texas. That was cool.

  3. I'm going to paste that camper photo on my glamping pinterest board...so true! Oh yes, I'm all in for a spa day, definitely one of the best ways to relax. Several bloggers have mentioned Culver's for a quick bite, I've never heard of them, I must seek one out in my travels. Your Corgi looks so happy in his little pool, I read just this week that the Corgi is the happiest dog breed, very appropriate for this hodgepodge.
    Cheers!

  4. You and I must have the same kind of face. I'm not a "smiley" person, even when I'm happy.
Your 'happy song' is at the top of my list, and I almost used that for my answer, too.
I loved your random thoughts :)

  6. My dog can tell time too! He knows just when it's 5:00. In the morning. That's an adorable picture of your grandsons! I'm friends with my kids too. Thanks for reminding me to be thankful for that and not to take it for granted. :)

  7. My start to blogging was much the same as yours, fascinating to think back and realise how it changed.

My cat, too, can tell the time. Spot on, sometimes, like when it's time to wake me up or get his food. Whoever was it that said animals are dumb?

  8. I especially love the Count Dracula trick or treater. Such a juxtaposition of a handsome boy and good costuming of Dracula. The soldier isn't bad. But I can see a little boy being a soldier. But Dracula, we are a bit "out of box" with that one.
One day if I ever get to travel again, I'll have to stop at a Culvers. I've never been to one. That's big talk from someone who no longer eats much.
