Chatting About This and That #137

http://www.everydayruralty.com/
1.  Would you rather drive or be driven?
If we are traveling in the RV, I would rather be driven.  If out and about town, I would rather be driving, alone.
2.  If you had your choice of a shiny new BMW with no conveniences inside, or an older model Ford or Chevy with everything one could want for comfort and convenience inside, which would you choose?
The older model of car, especially with heated seats.  Mr BC had a the fender fixed on my 2004 Cadillac, when he thought we might sell it to get a tow car for the RV. So now it looks good as new.  We decided to tow one of his sports cars instead.  Yea! I love that car.

3.  Do you eat many vegetables?

No, I am not really fond of vegetables I should eat more.  I do like a good salad and fruit.
4.  If you could blink your eyes and make a change to your body, face, hair, or nails, what would you change?

I would want to be taller and thinner.
5.  Please finish this sentence. "Goody! Someone just gave me two hundred dollars and I must spend it doing something enjoyable today. I'm going to___________________."

I would go to the salon and have every thing, clipped, cut, polished, massaged and plucked.  Then I would go to lunch with my daughter.

Stuck On You-Saturday 9

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here. I found out I was not familiar with this Stuck on You.

1) This upbeat song is from a CD called The Bright Side. What is brightening your world this fine Saturday?

Not a lot, it is storming and I have to take the dogs to get a bath.  Gwennie is hiding out in the shower from the thunder.  It will be a struggle to get her in the car.

2) Our featured artist Meiko sings, "You are the one I can see having fun with ...". When is the last time you laughed hard? Who were you with?

When I was in CA and my brother visited we laughed a lot together.  They thought my grandson was hilarous.

3) She also sings, "I must confess when I wear this dress I feel like dancing ...". Does your mood have an impact on what you wear?

As long as I am comfortable I don't care about what I might be wearing.  Comfort has an impact on my mood.

4) In this video, she accidentally drops one of her meatballs on the floor. Do you believe in "the five second rule," which states that if food has been on the floor less than five seconds it's still OK to eat? Or, after it hits the floor, is the next stop always the garbage?
I saw a report on 5 second rule and it said that it was mostly ok. It only confirmed what I had been doing (and saying) all along.

5) Despite her exotic-sounding name, Meiko was born in Atlanta, home of the Braves. Do you plan on going to the ballpark this season?

Maybe next year, Joplin is getting a minor league team.

6) Meiko recently posted a photo of herself in DisneyLand posing with Goofy. Who took the most recent photo of you? What were you doing?

My SIL and daughter took some pictures of my brother and I.  I would like to get a copy.

7)  Are you stubborn?
Only if I am really mad.  I won't shop at Sears, they made me mad 20 years ago.  I got rid of my vacuum cleaner because I wouldn't even go in to buy bags.

8) Let's visit your bathroom: What color is your toothbrush?

Purple and white.

9) Which would we find: bar soap or liquid soap?

I like liquid soap.  Bar soap gets too goopy in the shower and I can't stand to touch it.

Chatting About This and That-#136

http://www.everydayruralty.com/
1.  Do you enjoy crossword puzzles, word finds, or any "word" activities?
Oh yes! I love word games and especially the word puzzles over at Merriam-Webster.com.  I do many word puzzles first thing after firing up the ol' computer in the morning.
2.  What's on your dining room table right now?
It is piled high, with mail, as it often is, when I have gone out of town.  That is where Mr BC goes to sort his medicine too and it is still lined up.  The only time it really gets cleaned totally off is when we are expecting company.
3.  Do you like Italian food?
Yes, the combo of pasta, cheese and tomato is fantastic.  I usually don't make it anymore but I love to go out to dinner to an Italian restaurant.
4.  Did you ever want a brother, twin, or sister, when you were a child?
I had my baby brother, who is seven years younger than I, and that was OK.  I think it would have been fun to have an identical sister, but other than that, I liked being the big sister.  Some of my friends had more siblings and seem to have had family drama.  I didn't and that was good.
5.  How far away is the nearest grocery store?
I don't call the Dollar General a grocery store, since they don't have produce and that and dairy are what I need most often, so, even tho it is in town, I am rarely in there.  The closest real grocery store is about 3 miles away. I usually shop on Wednesdays. And we do without until the next Wednesday.

Hippity Hoppity-Saturday 9

1) Which do you prefer: colored hard-boiled eggs, chocolate marshmallow eggs, or plastic eggs with coins inside?
Any thing with chocolate would be my preference.

2) What's your favorite color of Peeps (yellow, purple, or pink)? For the actual peeps chicks.....yellow, any color for the bunnies are fine.  Too much sugar.  I use to love Peeps after they got a little hard and chewy.

3) All this talk of sweets is making Sam hungry. What's for lunch?
We generally have something light for lunch, I sometimes have a peanut butter and banana sandwich, Mr BC is fond of tuna or BLT.

4) This song was introduced by country singer Gene Autry and it's still a favorite. Please share some of the lyrics. (And you're on your own; Sam didn't include a link to the song this week.)
Hippity, Hoppity, Easter is on its way! I think I actually had that Golden record when I was a kid.

5) Gene Autry was so popular that a town in Oklahoma named itself for him. Have you ever been to Oklahoma?
Well we have to drive thru OK when we go to CA....however, I went to OK to visit family when I was young.  Dad was born in Homestead, OK and my cousins still live there.  We are right next door in Missouri.

6) In addition to singing, Mr. Autry made 93 cowboy movies. What's the last movie you saw?

Saving Mr Banks, I enjoyed it so much I wanted to read more about. They have it on Kindle, I will probably download it when I finish the two books I am currently reading.

7) He and his horse Champion also had a TV show. Can you name another famous horse?

Roy Roger's Trigger, the Lone Ranger's Silver, and Hopalong Cassidy's Topper. I saw Hopalong at the Rose Parade every year when I was young.

8) Gene Autry also recorded "Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer," and it was, of course, wildly popular, too. Who is your favorite recording artist?

So many to choose from...I am not sure I have a favorite. To be consistent to the answers for the same question.... Andrea Bocelli.

9) Back to the holiday celebration at hand -- Easter is considered the season of rebirth. What leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated?
Well a pedicure or massage and getting my hair done would rate high on the list. A short nap can do wonders.

Peep into Spring Chat

http://www.everydayruralty.com/
1.  What are you doing for Easter? We enjoy a non-secular spring celebration this time of year.  I did leave some goodies for my grandsons baskets with their mom, but we will just be enjoying the Spring that has finally come to Missouri.

2.  How many spring flowers have you noticed the last week or so? I flew back from Santa Barbara yesterday, and the forsythia have the last of the yellow blooms and my redbud trees are in full bloom.  My daffodils are gone....and the tulips have not come into bloom yet, so I can look forward to that. One of joys of my first spring in this house, (2 years ago) was all the bulbs my MIL had planted.  We had never been here in the spring before, when she was living in this house. It was a big surprise.

3.  What was your favorite thing in an Easter basket, or as dessert at Easter dinner? I am still a lover of jelly beans and Peeps.

Click to Biggify

4.  If you were a dog, what kind would you be? A Welsh Corgi, she gets a lot of attention when I walk her and she is cute as a button.

5.  What are your favorite pizza toppings? I always get a vegetarian pizza, because all the traditional meat toppings give me heartburn anymore.  We just had a yummy one delivered last night since Mr BC had not done any real shopping for the whole time I was gone (3 weeks). When he ran out of the things I had left for him, he started eating things he didn't have to cook. There wasn't a box of cereal left on the shelf.

Chats on the Terrible Twos

http://www.everydayruralty.com/
1.  What has kept you busy lately?
This guy is keeping me busy, today was challenging because he had a meltdown when I tried to take him home from the park.
2.  Are you making or creating anything? Memories with my 2nd grandson.  He is staying home with Mama and Gramma while his brother and dad are in Belgrade.
3.  What are you really hungry for right now? Lunch.....but I want to get this posted before I eat so I can comment on everyone's answers while I dine.
4.  What song has stuck in your head lately? Bing Bong Boom as sung by Miss Giselle on Peppa Pig.  Caшa is OBSESSED with Peppa Pig.

5.  If I could celebrate my upcoming birthday with you, what would we do? Well if I am still in Santa Barbara, I would take you to lunch on Stearns Wharf and we could visit the Art Walk on Sundays on the beach.

I'm Not June Cleaver....Chats on the Farm House Porch

1.  What's your favorite method of travel? I do like to get to CA fast so I prefer to fly, but flying is such a pain.  Remember when flying was special and people dressed up to fly?  My preferred method is our RV Cosette.  She takes us on so many adventures.  With more to come this year.

2.  If you wear jewelry, are you more likely to wear silver or gold? Silver
3.  How often do you wear sunglasses?  I am forming cataracts so I wear them every time I go out.
4.  Which would be easier for you to leave undone (for a short period of time), dishes or laundry?  Laundry, I have enough house clothes to get by for at least 2 weeks.  I rarely wear the going out stuff as much as when I worked, so 2 weeks is about long enough...I have done it.

5.  On a scale of 1-10 (1-hardly any+ 10- house is full), how much clutter have you collected? Maybe 4 as I moved 2 years ago to Missouri and we de-cluttered then.  It took 28 years to build the clutter....and cluttered it was at least a 9 or 10.
