Self-Esteem-Saturday 9

1. How was your self esteem growing up?
From 6th grade through high school I was on the chubby side so I don't think that led to high self-esteem so I have struggled with my self-esteem some what, but it was never life altering.

2. Do you ever have a hard time with morals?
No.

3. Do you eat in bed? If yes, what?
I have eaten ice cream in bed when we had a TV in the bedroom.  I ate in bed when I broke my ankle several years ago.

4. What was the last movie you hated and why?
One movie I though was really really awful was House of the Spirits, It had a wonderful cast but was truly awful.  I found out it was a book by Isabel Allende and I thought the story had potential but was not adapted well by the screenwriters.  I read it and was hooked by Allende.  Movies made from popular books are rarely done well.

5. Have you ever felt that you lost it all? If yes, explain.
I lose my temper every so often.  I felt I lost my touch at training at work, as I got older and the trainees got younger.  I should have retired a few years ago. When I lost both my parents I felt that I had lost all opportunity to find out who they really were.

6. Have you ever been stalked?
Only by Mr Bankerchick.  We broke up for a week or so, early in our relationship and he watched me in the parking lot when the store I worked at had closed, to see what I was up to, I saw his car and knew he was there.  He admitted to it when we got back together.

7. Do you believe in 'self help' for problems, or do you prefer therapy?
"Let me share this with you". I like to work through my own issues.   I would never go to therapy. I am not concerned about others who have gone through it, but it is not for me.

8. What celebrity do you think should make a run for office?
John Stewart from The Daily Show. He is so smart and intellegent.

9. Do you believe in happy endings? (We do. That why this is the last question!)
I think most contented people have Happy Endings, but for many unhappy, discontented people or for those who live in chaos, there are not happy endings.

  5. I'm in complete agreement with 'The House of Spirits'. Allende is a beautiful writer and yet, like many novel adaptations, her work has never been transferred to the screen well. See also the adaptation of 'Of Love and Shadows' which is even worse, in my opinion.

  6. Oh yes - I agree with you on the House of Spirits. After reading the book I had high expectations about the movie with its all-star cast. But it was flat and utterly disappointing.

  7. These questions were hard for me this week so I didn't participate. You did a good job with them though. I love your answer to 9 and of course would vote for 8 in a heartbeat!
