Too Cold on the Porch Today

  1. How much baking did you do before and after Christmas? Do you get more inspired to bake when the temps are cooler? I don't bake much anymore, no kids close by to do cookies and breads.....and they just aren't good for Mr BC and I.
  2. Do you have any food intolerance or allergies?  I am lactose intolerant and have an allergy to penicillin.  I don't want to get stung by a bee either.
  3. When was the last time you were in a restaurant? I can't remember.  It is usually when we are travelling....Oh, it was in November for DD2's birthday. We are Mexican restaurant, snobs.  MO does not do Mexican restaurant very well. We keep trying to find authentic.  So far, NOPE.
  4. What's your favorite accent(speech)? I would guess an accent from Great Britain, especially Scottish.  The  new Dr Who is Scottish.
  5. My favorite gift this Christmas is a big, thick, fluffy pink scarf DD1 gave me. It is perfect for this dangerous cold we are getting, across the country.  I actually wear it inside the house.

  4. Your pink fluffy scarf sounds wonderful for these cold cold days that are upon us.! We love Mexican food also. We have two Mexican restaurants about half an hours drive from us...both owned and operated by Mexicans so the food truly is authentic. Our daughter & son-in-law spent 12 years in Mexico City...our grandson was born there. During that time our daughter became a very good cook of authentic Mexican food!

  5. The Tenth Doctor was Scottish, too, as well as Captain Jack Harkness. I was blown away the first time I heard them speaking in their natural accents.

  9. I feel for you in all that cold weather. Don't let that scarf blow away.

We dine out every Saturday, more as a reason to get Joe out of the house although I do enjoy being waited on.

  11. I did not bake at all this season. I just didn't have time! But I woke up this morning, a day off from work, and thought who says Christmas Cookies can only be done at Christmas? I'm going to make some today to surprise my daughter after school!

  13. I'm also allergic to penicillin. And those medicines that say that 20% of the people allergic to penicillin are allergic to this one, too....I'm in that 20% percent. I just generally fight through whatever illness rather than risking swelling up like a blow-fish as I did when I was a newborn. I'm sorry that you're allergic to it, too.

My mama is allergic to yellow jacket stings. Thankfully, I don't have a problem with buzzers of any kind except for mosquitoes. I could eat a ton of garlic and they're still going to treat me like the vampire buffett! I know it must make it very hard for you in the spring and summer.

    Have a great weekend!
