Carols-Saturday Nine

1) What's the first holiday song that comes to mind?
I just heard it's a Holly Jolly Christmas and it is stuck in my head.

2) Are you sending cards (either by postage service or email) this year? If so, have they gone out yet?
I only plan on sending out a few, I haven't done it yet because my cards are packed away with the Christmas decorations and I have not brought them down stairs.

3) Can you see any holiday decorations from where you're answering these questions?
Only my Chris-Moose.  He has been sitting on a shelf since last Christmas and he now has a place of honor on an end table.

4) Do you wrap gifts in paper or take the gift bag route?
I am a gift bag user when I can.

5) The holidays are an important fundraising time for charities. Here's an opportunity to do a shameless plug for your favorite. What organization or cause do you wish got more support at the holidays, and all year around?
All of the animal charities.

6) Andy Williams was famous for his family holiday specials. What TV family would most like to spend Christmas with?
I should like to spend the holidays with Lord Grantham and his family at Downton Abbey. If not them then the Heck family from The Middle, we are actually more like them.

7) The holidays are a big time for travel. Where did you go on your first airplane flight?
To Mexico City, when I was 17....a long time ago, back when air travel was still a glamorous thing to do.

8) Does the weather have an impact on your mood?
I know when I lived in Michigan, winter would make me SADD and I would get cabin fever, cooped up with my little ones. Being a California Girl, I did not know how to drive in winter without ending up in a ditch.

9) Snack time! You're about to make yourself your favorite sandwich. What ingredients do you need?
Peanut butter and bananas.

  1. Peanut butter and bananas! How very Elvis of you! Yes, the Downton Abbey crowd would be wonderful to spend Christmas with. (But I'm not sure I have appropriate dress.)

I love your Holly Jolly card!

  3. I love winter but when I lived on the east coast driving made me so nervous. Hitting that I've and bring out of control was frightening. I like to go the fancy wrapping route if time, but usually it's gift bags for me too

  4. I'm looking forward to spending a wintry Christmas in the future but I don;t know if I would survive the cold, hahaha.
You are right about air travel that was glamourous before. With the influx of budget fares, flying became a circus!

  5. I have to put "Downton Abbey" on my list to see on Netflixs. I heard a lot about it lately.

  7. Enjoyed reading all your responses. I'm not surprised that a California girl would have a difficult time driving in winter conditions - that must have been a difficult adjustment!

I've been listening to the 'Charlie Brown Christmas' cd over and over this season :)

  8. Haslet and mustard sandwiches would be my choice. Crazy, I know.
Gift bags have been my choice for years.
    First flight was to Austria.
Still thinking about who I'd like to spend Christmas with.
