I like grown-up Justin Timberlake-Saturday 9

1) When was the last time that you got dressed up, or to borrow from Mr. Timberlake, "fixed up to the nines?"
DD1's wedding where I work my Spanx, stockings, wore a pink silk suit, had someone do my hair and makeup and looked divine! Since then, probably at a company event.

2) Justin Timberlake is known for his threads. Do you try to keep up with fashion trends?
Not really, I am built like a tumbled down Brick House!

3) While on tour, Justin has a cigar roller on call so that he and the band can enjoy a "gentleman's club" atmosphere back stage. Do you enjoy the smell of a good cigar?
My dad use to smoke cigars so yes, I like cigar smell/smoke.  But Ugh! When it was over with the stench of the ash tray and dead cigar is appalling.

4) Justin appeared on Star Search when still in grade school, and he's been working ever since. When Crazy Sam was that age, her only "job" was to load the dishwasher and for this she earned her $1/day allowance. Did you work when you were a kid?
I did some babysitting in my early teens.  I did not get an allowance when I was a kid.
 5) JT has appeared several times on Saturday Night Live, a show that premiered before he was born. Who is your most favorite ever SNL cast member of all time?
I liked Gilda Radner, Tina Fey, the Blues Brothers were the best characters.

6) Justin is a very good golfer (6 handicap). Will you play this summer?
I took a semester of golf in college and never even played on a golf course.  I never took it up.

7) A round of golf requires hours outside in the elements. Have you ever endured a painful sunburn?
I am sure I did when I was a kid, but as I got into high school, I never laid out on the beach or pool.

8) When they were young, Justin dated Britney Spears. Obviously, it's been easy for him to keep up with her successes and problems over the years. Do you wonder how one of your exes is doing?
No, but I have Googled names and looked for names on Facebook. No luck.

9) Ever since his days with N'Sync, Justin Timberlake has supported music education. Did your grade school offer music classes? If so, do you remember any of the songs you learned then?
Growing up in CA in the 50's we had music education in elementary.  Mrs. Yingling was the singing teacher.  In 5th-8th grade you could take instrument, I took violin for 3 months and don't remember anything. I can remember Christmas Programs....not PC... and we learned Silver Bells and sang all the religious songs and had a nativity....that doesn't happen any more.

  1. I think it is fun to dress up "to the nines" -- where is that expression from? But casual is the word of the day these days. Article in Wall Street Journal today on how some men are emulating their grandfathers on how they dress, not their dads (still too casual), great suit, pocket handkerchief, etc. I love the idea of a positive role model for men.

  3. My brother smokes a cigar occasionally and I can smell it in the cottage days later.

  4. Oh, I bet if you picked up a violin, you would remember a bit. Now that you mention Christmas songs, we did learn quite a few Santacentric songs. "Up on the rooftop/click, click, click/down through the chimney comes good St. Nick."

  5. I remember Christmas ...as in CHRISTmas type activites as well. Yeah -- no way Jose! Not now! Someone would sue. So much so they can't really do anything... bizarre.

I've been interested in a couple of ex's couldn't find them online. That's so bizarre in today's world..

  7. Your violin story is almost identical to my flute story. I would have rather played the drums anyway. Bet'cha I wouldn't have quit those.

  9. "Dressed up to the nines" is a good phrase. My Dad used to say "Look at you all dolled up". I love getting dressed up, which I do every Saturday evening when MWM takes me out for the evening. :)
