Chatting up the Grandsons

Everyday Ruralty

1.  Do you remember your first day of school?
I remember it because Mom took a home movie (Film, 1952) of the occasion.  She always made a plaid dress for the occasion and I carried on the tradition for my girls by sending them off to the primary grades in plaid.
2.  Do you decorate for the different seasons? If so, have you decorated for fall yet?
I don't decorate for the seasons except, I noticed fall was right around the corner because some hedge apples have fallen in the park. I try to arrange several in a pretty bowl, it is suppose to be good for bug control.

3.  What food do you associate with fall?  Turkey and sweet potatoes and apple cider.
4.  Do you order books online, buy books in a bookstore, download books to a device, or frequent the library? If not interested in books, how do you get your music?
I order them to download on my Kindle unless it has lots of pictures or footnotes.  I buy a lot from Amazon.  I am currently reading my fellow blogger, Maddie Grigg's, A Year in Lush Places.  I just finished Austen's Persuasion, my summer reread, and Merle's Door.

5..When was the last time you realized that you had just been talking to someone really special?
My Grandson says something special every, Last night he was playing  so nicely with his "baby brudder", it made me so proud. BB at 18 months is still not saying much as everyone talks for him. Yesterday, we took him to Urgent Care and... yup....his flu turned into an earache.  Mine has given me a sinus wheeze that is almost musical.... "what's that,,, Grandma?" I am going to try a neti pot today and if that doesn't clear it up I am going to have to visit the Urgent Care myself as I can barely sleep, for the voices in my head are keeping me awake!

  4. Kids say the cutest things! I used to write down the cute things my kids would say, so I could look back on them after they were grown. Which is now :)

  5. Poor Grandma! I sure hope that you feel better soon!

I did all the talking for my brother until he was 3 years old, and he turned out fine. The little one is at least hearing words and sounds, even if he isn't saying them yet. Hope the whole house is better soon!
