Friday Fragments and Fun

Half-Past Kissin' Time

My Atkins Book came this week and I am sorry I did not order it for my Kindle.  The print is so tiny I strain to read it.  I may have to pull out my magnifier glasses.  What I have determined so far is that we have to be careful and count net carbs, which seems to be some vegetables and in various condiments etc.  Also, we have to limit Splenda to 3 packs a day. I won't have to limit real cream for my coffee, but I might have to learn to drink coffee less sweet.

We went on a club ride with Mr BC MGTF Saturday.  Actually we ended up just eating lunch with them at the Antler in Gainesville, Mo.  We missed the meet up as we are still learning our way around Springfield, MO, so we were late.  We had our own leaf-peeping tour finding our way to the restaurant.  I really enjoyed the folks we had lunch with and are looking forward to other events.  The next one is a Christmas party, that should be fun.
Mr BC got the thermostat installed just fine and it worked, but we still had to call for service as the pilot would not stay lit.  Our furnace man was out about 30 minutes after we called and had things warm before we could get too cold.  Gwennie who has a double coat has spent a lot of time outside as this is her type of weather. The rest of us like the warm and toasty house just fine.

  1. Wow, only a thirty minute wait for a service call. That's incredible!
I love your little pictures at the end of the post. Funny!

  2. While I have forgotten a gas cap at the gas station (most are attached now) I can't understand how you would drive away with the hose still in your car. Have a great weekend.

  3. My daughters go back and forth with Atkins. Good luck!
We had trouble keeping our pilot lit too but we are toasty warm now. We waited a lot longer than 30 minutes.

  4. I saw the Ebola one last week and it made me laugh out loud. I have a friend who travels via airplane often and she's a nervous wreck. I get messages from her constantly about her fearing Ebola. I sent that meme right to her.
I think you all need to come back to CA where it was 90 today and tomorrow, and I'll go live with Gwennie in the cold temps. It's winter everywhere but here. :(
It sounds like a nice group of people and a great way to meet them now that you're living in a new place. Enjoy!

  5. Good luck with the Atkins diet. As for the missing piece of technology, I wonder if husbands would qualify for the prize money ... mine is great at folding sheets... smiles.

  6. I've just had to turn on the infrared heaters this morning. The house gets so chilly and damp. Way more than outside. But, no matter. I'm just grateful for no hot weather! Of course, I'm not sure I'd feel the same if we ever had a REAL winter. LOL Good luck with the Adkins plan. Hope it works for y'all!
