Confession is Good! Tuesday Coffee Chat

Join me and Rory at Time Out for Mom, for a Tuesday Coffee Chat. Today, she asks us about a Random Confession, as it is good for the soul.

I have confessed some things in other posts and they range from being a Star Trek fan, having a crush on Justin Timberlake (I am 60+) to naming my cars. I have spoken about my change of heart with Fundamental Christianity and move to more universal humanism.  I am no longer a Republican, but not a full fledged Liberal in my politics. So in saying all this I must search for a new confession to share here and it probably won't be too earth shattering.

Some things I found while looking around for something to confess to, and that are true about me:

Oh, I  got it! I got an e-mail about my  50th HS reunion, I don't want to go, and not because I will be on a trip that week, not because it is in CA and I am in Missouri, but because I went to the 40th and everyone who showed up were the campus big wigs back in the day. They hadn't changed much except they still thought they were important.  Most of the folks I wanted to see didn't come and I was bored to tears. I am hoping by liking the FaceBook page, I will be able to friend some folks, I would like to catch up with.

  2. That last one would be a huge disappointment. Most of those bigwigs were so dull to begin with. I have never attended a reunion. More so I did not know about them and my class has only had a few. The one I did know about, the person I was talking to knew of no one I mentioned so I know the feeling. Maybe some of the folks you know will see your posts.
Our newly elected Senator is the brother of a gal close in age to me. I know he is more moderate than the party line chokers she posts on Facebook. But you see the old "in group" click in agreement. I don't comment because I know it is a game There is a point you just agree to disagree.

  4. I am not even sure my high school class has ever even had a reunion?! seems crazy that in 20 years (oh my word....what?! how?!) there has not been one. If I did hear about one, I would probably go though. I have good memories of high school, and I still actually keep up with some people on Facebook, so I think I could have a good time.
Star Wars fan... but I totally get the Justin Timberlake thing!! He can sing, dance and he seems like such a sweet country good boy too!! :)

  5. Oh ya, the high school reunions are hard. I want to visit with people I like, but then again, I can do that without having to go back to high school.
I like oatmeal raisin cookies, but I agree, a disappointed when I'm hoping of chocolate.

  6. I love all your confessions, Katie! None of mine would be very earth-shattering, either, but sometimes good for a laugh. I really couldn't think of anything remotely entertaining to share, or important but not so important that I shouldn't be sharing. I really need to try to prepare myself a lot better for these "chats."

I feel you on the high school reunion. I've never been to even one of mine, and although I do not regret that, I am considering finally going this year. Mainly because I'll most likely be back living in the area it's held, but also because the time is just starting to feel more right. I'm still worried that none of the people I care about will go, and that I'll be a wallflower all night. But that should make for good blogging, right?

  8. Oh, yay! You sing the alphabet song, too! Geez, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only adult on the planet who STILL does this. lol I have not been to any of my class reunions. Part of me would like to go and another part of me is like I don't know these people anymore. Heck, I wouldn't recognize any of them. Why even on FB a person's name sounds familiar, but when I look at who they are today my mind draws a blank. That's how much some of these people have changed over the years. Well, if you decide to go then I hope some of your old buds show up so you won't be so bored.
