Week 37: January 20, 2017

1. Winter makes me feel old. The cold is getting me down...making everything, ache.

2. My grandsons make me feel young. When I am with them I usually get to play. I like to build with the legos, the boys are now old enough, they don't knock down my towers.

3. I have a hard time focusing this week, we have so much going on in the next few weeks, I haven't been able to concentrate on mundane things....my house is a mess, I am just taking down Christmas. 
    

                    

4. DD2 is visiting in CA, and as I took her to the airport, she kindly wished we were both going, that we would have fun. 

Can't think of any Fragments this Friday, so I will answer the Friday 5 this week.

1. Who’s been a ray of sunshine lately? DD2, is almost always our ray of sunshine, lately.  This has not always been the case....She is planning to move back to CA, which is ok with us. She is using this trip as a reconnoiter, toward that goal.  She is hoping to transfer with the company she is with now so she is looking.

2. When do you next expect to be stuffed to the gills? I don't know what happened to my stomach but, I get stuffed very easily. Which is disappointing when I have a chance to eat something I really love.  My eyes are truly bigger.

3. Among people you know, who can really tell a whale of a  tale? My dad use to love to tell stories....but he spoke so slowly sometimes, I use to want to finish his sentences.  I love to hear my brother speak, as he is so much like my father.

4. What’s something you’ve been heering good things about? It's awful that I can't think of anything specific.  Sadly not a lot of good things being said about anything. I will leave you with this.

5. Which of the S.S. Minnow‘s passengers or crew do you think you’d get along best with? Probably Mary Ann. She would be the most like me.
  

    

Triskaidekaphobia Friday Fill-Ins and Frtday Fragments

1. My guiding word for 2017 is take a deep breath before speaking or posting, and turn Trump off the TV.

2. It is hard to make it to my California class reunion now that I live in Missouri.  I would have tried to go to the 40th, last year, but we were on vacation....in Europe a few days later!

3. Truth be told I am superstitious about butterflies. When ever a butterfly comes close or even lands on me....I say hello Mom/grandma, depending on who I am with. Mom loved butterflies and I am sure she is close in spirit when a butterfly is close.

4. Lately, I have been worried about Mr BC's peace of mind and health. He has been not feeling well and has to use oxygen during the day, since before Christmas.   He is also having a surgery procedure at the end of the month and he is a bit low about that. I want to help him keep his spirits up.

*Today, as I get ready to go to the grocery store to stock up, there are reports of an ice storm that may be coming our way early Friday morning and Saturday. Snow is one thing ice is another. We are suppose to be at the hospital at 8 am, for an pre-op anesthesia appt.  That can be problematic.

* My dogs are getting older and grumpier and lately, not getting along each other. Gwennie will charge at him because, he barks at her.  He barks because he is afraid she is going to attack him. They spend the day annoying each other.  They are getting a walk most every day, if the weather permits. Mainly so they will be too worn out to argue. 

          

*Well, we woke up to rain, there was ice on the roads, but we made it to the hospital for the pre-op meeting. The temp was below freezing and the roads were slick but there was no sliding.  By the time we left it was raining and the temperature was in the 40's.  It is supposes to happen again tonite, but we have nothing to do this weekend but stay warm and toasty.....as long as the power doesn't go off.

*DD2 was here last night and she is excited to go to CA next week, she is going for the Women's March in LA, and she will be seeing the boys. I won't be seeing them for their birthdays, I am going to get out and pick something up for them. I had to postpone my visit in Feb because of Mr BC's procedure.  I would like for him to feel so much better that we can both go to CA sometime early Spring....in the RV.  We will see.

         

Friday Fill-Ins

1. Wow, this Hub Bub about Beyonce should so be over.

2.  I am pretty good with Jane Austen trivia.

3. Finally, I'm all caught up with my laundry!

4. If I never hear about that gullible football player again it would be all right with me.

5. Sweet or savory: I love them both, especially eaten together.

6  The pains in my left shoulder are new.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to folding sheets,

    tomorrow my plans include Seeing Les Miserables and Sunday, I want to

    take the dogs for a walk if the weather is nice!

I am so turning into a curmugeon, thanks to Mr Bankerchick, he talks back to the television and I am starting to talk back to it as well, lately it has been about the trivial things that the NEWS people think is news.  I am so over #1 and #4.

Back to California

1. After a while, I get tired of going back and forth between Missouri and California.
2.  I do get to see the grandsons and my daughter at least.
3. Well, anyway, it puts us closer to full Missouri residency.
4.  Thunder and lightening storms this week, were very scary to me.
5. I always want to put a pillow over my head like my Mom use to do.
6. The thought of selling my house keeps me going;
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to an Amarillo TX, motel room tomorrow my plans include Flagstaff AZ and Sunday, I want to arrive in California and sleep in my king sized bed!

Well as you can see we are off to California again today and I can't sleep.  We get to see Caшa, Лука, our grandsons, but that is the only blessing.  We are very tired of making this trip and have looked for almost any reason this time, to postpone it, however, we have to go and get this move behind us.
