I’m surprised to hear you say that I am coughing very badly, because I have been practicing all night.” John Philpot Curran

Well I am down but not yet out, However, I may be losing the Cold War.  Somewhere, I picked up a bug not unlike the monster above.  I am coughing, choking and sneezing a storm.  The mucus family has taken up residence in my body and
is sending invitations to the housewarming.  Gwennie is delighted as there are tissues to rip apart in waste baskets that she can reach with her long pointy muzzle. Totem has discovered that I am not a comfortable lap to sit on or snuggle with and jumps off my lap or the bed in disgust. Mr BC has learned that I don't find him as funny when I don't feel good and the guest bedroom is the place to be when I start hacking in the middle of the night. He decided to start out there tonight.  I am a fuzzy purple footed flu monster. The problem is that even though I will be feeling better in a week, my sleep and that of the rest of the family will be disturbed until Spring.

(Pumpkin Delight this is a direct quote from my comment to you, so you can move on if you like.)

I finally saw Les Miserables and I liked the film...it expanded on the book a little more than the play for obvious reasons. I thought Russel Crow was not really up to the music but adequate. Hugh Jackman did a great job, I worried about God on High but he managed to bring it off. I differ with a lot of people about Ann Hathaway. She acted the song very well but I love the pure singing voice of the play, heart felt but not awash in anguish and tears. Fo me, Sasha Baron Cohen came across as too sinister, instead of delightfully devilish in Master of the House, after that the role is devilishly sinister as it should be. The cinamatography was lavish, beautiful, and heartbreaking in its realism.
I was expecting it to be good and it was, but I'm still more of a fan of the stage version.

This is going to be a movie review post I guess.  Mr BC and I saw Skyfall last night on Amazon. I have never been a fan of Bond, James Bond, but I have enjoyed the ones with Daniel Craig,  Mr BC has always said that the of all the Bonds, Sean Connery and Daniel Craig are the ones he pictured, as he read the books.  Yes, Mr BC read the books first. Skyfall was really good.  Exciting and sad (Spoiler Alert)..... when M dies in his arms.  It had its moments of fun as well, that Bond kept the Aston Martin all these years was classic.

  1. Ha ha! Thanks for the note!
I love the Daniel Craig JB and really enjoyed sky fall too. I liked the background info.
I'm sorry you are not feeling well. This bug has been atrocious, knocking people out left and right. Hope wellness is just around the corner for you.

  2. I'm sorry to hear you have the flu and I hope you recover quite soon. However, I confess to having a chuckle over your write-up. It was splendidly written. I have yet to Les Mis... stage play or film, but my claim to fame was having toured the house in the Channel Islands where Victor Hugo lived. He was a rascal!

  3. Hope you feel better soon! I like Bond movies the way I like mint chocolate chip ice cream: it's not my favorite but I'll eat it. Then I saw Skyfall....wow. Daniel Craig is amazing! I can't wait to see it again.
