I am apt to believe that (this day) will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty....ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore.
On many of the past several days, we have had massive thunder and lightening storms, in between the fire cracker blasts. I am thoroughly tired of fireworks, as is Gwennie.
We had a monster storm last night here in MO. I found flower pots scattered everywhere this morning. For some reason everyone and their uncle lit fireworks in my neck of the woods July 4. Made a noisy night.
ReplyDeleteUgh! That is so irritating. With the fireworks being illegal here, we got off easy. There were a couple of hours of noise, but not days, thankfully. Rigby gets scared too. It always makes me feel bad.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realise the celebrations went on so long. Fireworks and thunderclaps just don't go together... there should be a law about it... smiles.
