QUANTUM Fruitloopery-April A-Z

Quantum Fruitloopery (QFL) is the theory that the word "quantum" could be sprinkled on any New Age, spiritual, "alternative" medicine, or better-than-magic technological claim This instantly transform it from "crazier than a shit-house rat" to "scientifically plausible" in the minds of many credulous people.  So we might logically define it as the use of scientific language inappropriately and without comprehension in order to increase believability of a concept.

Frootloopery words include 'energy', 'holistic', 'vibrations', 'magnetic healing', micro or macro. These words are borrowed from physics and sometimes used to promote dubious health and beauty claims. often characterized by the use of vague, contradictory, exaggerated or unprovable claims.  I am speaking of quackery and not your doctor or beauty treatment. Plenty of doctors combine complementary treatments along with standard procedures. I am not referring to that type of medicine or technology.
The descriptions will include,"based on the keynotes for archetypal healing modes". or "...instead, they contain micro quantities of colloidal minerals whose subatomic structure has been scientifically 'encoded' with information needed to restore the integrity to the human body field."  gobbley gook that it is basically pseudoscience. They will sound a lot like explanations from Star Trek  "reversing the polarity of the annular confinement beam through the warp-field flux capacitor." If your doctor doesn't recommend it or it sounds too good to be true, it could be Fruitloopery.

  3. hehehe , this was a fun read. For me, reiki and therapeutic massage fall into this category too, but I'll try anything once! Well, except therapeutic massage.
